The ever popular sound of Foreigner resounded throughout the 70’s and 80’s.  No one can forget hits like “Cold As Ice,” “Jukebox Hero,” “Urgent” and, the chart topper, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”  Their sound continues today captivating audiences of multi-generational fans. 
It is over 70 million albums later and Foreigner is still going strong with this lineup of players: Mick Jones, Kelly Hansen, Tom Gimbel, Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein and Mark Schulman.  Mick Jones started Foreigner in 1976 with fellow Brits Ian McDonald and Dennis Elliott and Americans Lou Gramm, Alan Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi.  Mick’s original vision was for the band to combine blues and R&B with British Rock, but he was also inspired by many elements of American music.  Foreigner was the perfect vehicle to facilitate that musical blend.  Mick has also written or co-written every Foreigner song and produced or co-produced every album.  The band has been consistently in the Top 15 at Classic Rock Radio and just last year, they officially entered the Top 10. 
In the summer of 2011, Foreigner toured with Journey and their tour broke records in several major markets.  They played to hundreds of thousands of fans all over Europe and America.  They are also among some of the elite in the music industry due to the fact that they have nine Top 10 hits.  That puts Foreigner at one less than The Eagles and even with Fleetwood Mac, but nine is more than Journey, ZZ Top, The Steve Miller Band and even Robert Plant, just to name a few.  Foreigner also holds a record with Billboard magazine for their hit single “Waiting For A Girl Like You” which was #2 on the singles chart for a record 14 weeks.  All in all, Foreigner has sixteen Top 30 hits, numerous multi-platinum albums and an amazing legacy.
