Thanks to Lita Ford and her all girl group The Runaways for influencing the future of women in music.  The Runaways consisted of Lita, Joan Jett, Sandy West, Jackie Fox and Cheri Currie and they were a pioneering all-female rock group in the 1970’s.  They eventually broke up, but not before paving the way for many other all female groups – The Donnas, Bikini Kill, L7 and The Go-Go’s to name a few.  Lita Ford went out on her own in the 80’s and released numerous albums while on her way to earning the title of “The Queen of Metal.”  As a solo artist she had hit singles such as “Kiss Me Deadly” and he duet with Ozzy Osbourne, “Close My Eyes Forever.”  After some downtime, Lita returned to the stage in 2008 at the Rocklahoma Music Festival and to the studio in 2009 with Wicked Wonderland.  Living Like A Runaway is her 2012 album which is set to debut on June 19, 2012.    You won’t want to miss the Queen of Metal at Penn’s Peak on July 12th!!
