In June of 2011, the Glenn Miller Orchestra celebrated their 55^th Anniversary of continuous touring. It is an arduous schedule of constant travel and one-night stands, covering more than 100,000 miles a year. They play nearly 300 dates to more than a half million people yearly. Glenn Miller & His Orchestra had more hit records in one year than anybody in the history of the recording industry. Their recording of "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" garnered the Orchestra the first Gold Record ever awarded to a performing artist. All big bands of the era had a signature song; one they signed on and off with at each engagement. The theme of Glenn Miller & His Orchestra was "Moonlight Serenade," and it is still used as the signature song for the Glenn Miller Orchestra today. Always a sell-out concert, so we added another day!
