Bill Haley and the Comets began in mid 1949 as the very first rock and roll band. According to some rock historians, they put Rock and Roll on the map. Bill Haley and the Comets performed such great hits as "See Ya Later, Alligator", "Rock Around The Clock", "Rip it Up" and more. Bill Haley's legend continues today as Bill Haley's Comets featuring John "Bam Bam" Lane. John joined with Bill in the early 60's and continues to front the band, Bill Haley's Comets.
