The American Led Zeppelin
Get The Led Out has captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and they bring it all to the stage every time they perform. This Philadelphia based band has been dubbed by the media as “The American Led Zeppelin” with their two plus hour shows. They are focused on the early years of Led Zeppelin, but they also like to grind out some of the lesser, seldom heard live, cuts. GTLO consists of 7 professional rock musicians that have dedicated their time to recreating that true Led Zeppelin experience. The 7 members are: Paul Sinclair – lead vocals, harmonica, Paul Hammond – Guitar, mandolin, Theremin, Billy Childs – Bass, vocals, Adam Ferraioli – Drums, Andrew Lipke – Keyboards, guitar, Jimmy Marchiano – guitar, vocals and Diana DeSantis – special guest vocalist on “The Battle of Evermore.”
Paul Sinclair, original frontman of “Sinclair,” has been performing in thePhiladelphiaarea for years. He appeared on National TV when he was chosen to perform as Steven Tyler on the show “Your Big Break.” He is also an engineer/producer with credits on a number of albums in the “indie” world.
Paul Hammond, also once a member of “Sinclair,” is not only a professional musician and producer/engineer like Paul Sinclair, but he is also a songwriter and owner of Fat City Studios in Blue Bell, PA. His most recent projects include writing and playing guitar tracks on Time Warner and Comcast radio and TV commercials for D4TV. He also finds time to work at Elmstreet Studios, which is privately owned and operated by Rob Hyman (Joan Osborne, Cyndi Lauper). Paul was inLondonrecently delivering a custom built guitar to Jimmy Page and while there he also attended the Led Zeppelin Reunion Concert.
Billy Childs, best known for being a founding member of the 80’s band Britny Fox has just recently joined the GTLO line up. He was a childhood friend of Adam’s and played in the band LeCompt with Jimmy. Billy was living inCaliforniawhen he was approached by his old friends to move back to Philly and play in a band with them. Being the avid John Paul Jones fan that he is, Billy was in and the rest is GTLO history.
Adam heard his first Led Zeppelin record and he was hooked on John Bohnam’s sound and bombastic beat. There were other drummers over the years that influenced Adam, but none impacted him quite as much as John. He has been in a handful of bands over the years, including one that did a set of Zeppelin every night, but none with the skill of Get The Led Out. “Once we were all in rehearsal together it just felt like a family!” Adam also played off and on with Jimmy Marchiano for ten years before reconnecting with Get The Led Out.
Andrew Lipke is an accomplished musician who can play a variety of instruments. He began on piano and when he moved to theUnited States, he started writing songs for the guitar. He moved toPhiladelphiaand earned a degree in music composition. He got into GTLO as a result of his working with Paul Hammond and Paul Sinclair on Kate Gaffney’s 2005 CD. He has an original composition featured on the latest Mad Dragon Records CD compilation “Unleashed II.”
Jimmy Marchiano, a renownedPhiladelphiabased guitarist, who started playing at the age of 8, has played in several notable bands including:Angora, Black Eyed Susan and an East Coast club favorite, LeCompt. He has quite an eclectic list of experiences in the music business so far with many more to come. He was managed by Gene Simmons (KISS), performed on the same bill with Guns ‘N Roses and has been in recording sessions with mixer/producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Guns ‘N Roses). The energy and enthusiasm that he brings to GTLO is amazing.
Finally, lending her talent as a singer in various bands on thePhiladelphiaclub circuit over the years, GTLO added Diana DeSantis. She is the special guest vocalist on “The Battle of Evermore.”
GTLO ROCKS!!! Of course, you would know this since I’m sure you are a fan and you never miss a show! See you at the Peak!!
