Ultimate Billy Joel Experience
Big Shot is committed to performing the most accurate reenactment of Billy Joel’s music with the amazing vocals and piano of Mike DelGuidice. He is backed by one of the most dynamic and seasoned bands in the industry who, in addition to performing in concert with Billy Joel himself as well as his Broadway musical Movin’ Out, have also worked with Donna Summer, Roger Daltrey of The Who, Richie Blackmore, Tower of Power, Nine Days, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and many more. The true Billy Joel fan will be blown away after experiencing Big Shot live. On any given night they will also astonish you with songs in their set from other artists like, Paul McCartney, Elton John, The Beatles, Journey and many more, also songs from Michael’s original CDs.
Front man Mike DelGuidice, the well-known Long Island Musician/ Singer/Songwriter has released his own original CDs, and when performing Billy Joel’s music is a dead ringer sound alike. The other members of the band are: Tommy Byrnes, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer, he has been Billy Joel’s guitarist and musical director for the past 21 years. He also served as the Musical Director for Broadway’s Movin’ Out. John Scarpulla, sax, another original cast member of Billy’s Broadway Musical Movin Out band. John has toured with Michael Bolton, Hall & Oates, Huey Lewis, Tower of Power, just to name a few. He continues to be a major player on the New York Scene doing studio work. Nick Dimichino, the quintessential addition to the rhythm section on bass, was a member of the Band Nine Days who had a #1 hit song "Absolutely"(This is a Story of a Girl). His solid bass playing and quiet and humble spirit has made him one of the most likable and solid commodities that Big Shot boasts. Carmine Giglio, who has also performed with Movin’ Out, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Carly Simon, Joe Lynn Turner and Nine Days, is playing it up on the synth. Chuck Burgi has recorded and toured nationally and internationally, but in 2002 he debuted on Broadway drumming for the musical Movin’ Out. While playing in the final shows of the musical, Chuck was approached by Billy Joel and asked to join him for a world tour in support of his My Lives album. He has toured the world with the likes of Hall and Oates, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow and Diana Ross.
