Penn’s Peak would like to welcome back the obscene comedic stylings of Dr. Dirty – John Valby!!
John Valby, also known as Dr. Dirty, can be described as a classical pianist, a singer and a comedian, but he is best known as the latter . . . and then some. Dr. Dirty is a blend of the following performers, Allen Sherman, Spike Jones, Lenny Bruce, Weird Al and Redd Foxx. Take all of that and add some vulgarity and a variety of “Dirty Ditties,” and you have an evening with Dr. Dirty. He started out rather innocently in Catholic school where the nuns taught him to play piano. It was after he got to college that he started the skits and became known as Dr. Dirty. He even created a few compositions for his college fraternity brothers and they are still sung today as part of his legacy. When he started in 1975, he was performing ragtime tunes and pop standards. One night, he decided to throw in three dirty songs and “… pretty soon, the power of “DIRT” pushed most everything else out.” His manager dubbed him Dr. Dirty and from that day on the name has remained. Dr. Dirty has recorded and produced over 30 CD’s and LP’s. He has also recorded a “clean” Christmas CD and the non-Dirty Lily White and Burnout Blues CD. Over the years he has worked on numerous other projects including a multi-era Rock-n-Roll CD, some new age music and even a Children’s album.
Come out to Penn’s Peak and get ready to laugh the night away at the vulgar, obscene and hysterical Dr. Dirty.
